IIA Requirements
CIA Course Eligibility in India
Eligibility guidelines are established globally by The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Candidates from diverse academic backgrounds in commerce, finance, engineering, and business management can pursue CIA.
1. Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in any discipline (B.Com, BBA, BMS, B.Sc, B.E., M.Com, MBA) from a recognized university. Candidates currently in their final year of graduation can also enroll and start exam prep!
2. Work Experience Requirement
2 years of professional internal audit, risk advisory, compliance, or financial audit experience (or 1 year for Master’s degree holders).
Important Note: You can appear for and pass all 3 CIA exam parts BEFORE or WHILE acquiring your required work experience!
Can I pursue CIA immediately after 12th?
No. The IIA requires candidates to have at least a Bachelor's degree (or be enrolled in a degree program) to become certified. High school graduates are advised to enroll in B.Com/BBA while starting CIA prep simultaneously.
